All tours (drop-in or scheduled) are guided by docents

April - November: You can drop-in for a Guided Tour

The Bradford House is open for drop-in visitors Wednesday through Saturday from April through November, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Just pop in! A guided tour is about one-hour to one-and-a-half hours. During this time frame, you do not need to call and make an appointment, simply drop-in. There are no set tour times. When you arrive, your tour will start. The back and the front doors of the Bradford House will be open. The front door sticks sometimes, so push. Of course, if you are coming with a large group, we ask that you call and give us a heads up.

December - March: You can schedule an appointment for a Guided Tour

Tours may be scheduled throughout the year by appointment with 48-hour notice, except New Year’s Day, Easter, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve. A guided tour is about one-hour to one-and-a-half hours. During this time frame, there will not be anyone at the house, unless you call and setup a tour. Don't be hesitate in contacting us for a tour. We schedule many tours in this offseason.

To schedule a tour, call 724-222-3604 or email info@bradfordhouse.org. We welcome individuals, families, and large groups and will customize tours to meet your needs.

Location and Parking

We are located on Main Street in Washington, Pennsylvania. Only a little over 30 minutes drive from Pittsburgh.

You can park in our lot for free, located directly behind the Bradford House — accessible via the alley. If the lot is full, street-metered parking spaces are available.

Gift Shop

Browse our gift shop and find deeper stories about the American frontier experience in books curated for the history buff; Bradford and Whiskey Rebellion-themed shirts and mementos; period toys; limited edition prints; and much more!

Accessibility

Our 236-year-old stone house cannot be adapted to be wheelchair-friendly, as there are steps at each entrance and no space for an interior elevator to all levels. However, those with physical limitations who can make it up one or two steps can explore the first level of the home and view pictures while seated in the comfort of our front hall way. Our kitchen cabin and period garden and courtyard are wheelchair-accessible.
